Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerIzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues its services in line with the vision of equal opportunity in education, provides free internet service to help students in rural neighborhoods learn. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality delivers internet to 78 rural neighborhoods in total. Free internet service will continue to expand.

Ahmet Ata Temiz, Head of IT Department of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, said, “We aim to establish Turkey's largest free internet network on this road, which we set out with the motto of service is service and internet is internet. In many villages where internet service is not available, our aim is to bring this service to children and young people and create a smile on their faces. In 2021, 287 thousand sessions were opened and a great usage rate was achieved. Students satisfied with free internet

Sedef Irak, 6th grade student of Zeytinova Martyr Erdal Canbulat Secondary School, from the mountain village of Bayındır, Kızılkeçili, who benefits from the free internet service of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, said, “We study very well thanks to the internet in our lessons. I would like to thank my President Tunç, who brought us this service.”

İbrahim Irak, a 4th grade student at Kızılkeçili Primary School, said, “Thanks to the free internet, we study, we can watch videos. It has been very helpful for our lessons. We had the opportunity to develop ourselves,” he said.

Melih Gökten, a 1st grade student at Kızılkeçili Primary School, said, “We are watching a video about our lessons. We are doing research. “The internet is a beautiful thing,” he said. Hatice Irak, a first year high school student at Muzaffer Tuzcuoğlu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, said, “I am doing my research homework. I open and watch videos on some of the issues that I fell behind. The internet has helped a lot in this regard," he said.
The parent of the student, Ayşe Irak, said, “Our children do their lessons, our teachers watch videos. We are very pleased, we thank our Bronze President,” she said.
