Approximately 20 thousand additional capacity was added to meet the passenger density due to High Speed Trains (YHT), main line and regional train services, which are operated by the General Directorate of TCDD Transportation.
In his statement, TCDD Transportation General Manager Hasan Pezük stated that the General Directorate took various measures to meet the increasing passenger demand during the semester break covering January 24 - February 4: “As TCDD Transportation, we aim to ensure that our citizens travel in a comfortable and comfortable environment. We have taken all the necessary measures for this.” he said.

Pointing out that the demand for all trains increased even more during the semester break, considering the weather conditions of the winter season, Pezuk stated that they will operate additional flights between Ankara-Konya-Ankara and Ankara-Istanbul-Ankara during the semester break.
Underlining that they do not limit the said additions only to YHTs, Pezük said: “We will add wagons to the existing trains at the beginning and end of the semester break in main line and regional trains. Thus, we will provide approximately 20 thousand additional capacity in all train services. YHTs will depart from Ankara to Konya at 21 and from Konya to Ankara at 23 on January 28-30, January 4-6, and February 14.50-18.40. It will depart from Ankara to Istanbul / Söğütlüçeşme at 22 on 23-5 January, 6-08.15 February, and from Istanbul / Söğütlüçeşme to Ankara at 14.05. Thus, a total capacity increase of 9 people will be achieved. Our passengers, who go on holiday with additional YHTs, will make fast journeys in the comfort of their homes.”
From Pezük, mainline and regional trains, İzmir Mavi, Konya Mavi, Aegean, Erciyes, Fırat, Pamukkale and Ankara expressways and Uzunköprü-Halkalı Regional Train and Kapıkule-Halkalı Expressing that they will increase the passenger capacity on each route with a total of 152 wagons to be added to the Regional Train: “Thus, 10 thousand 320 seats will be available for sale on our main line and regional trains during the semester break.
