Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler has fulfilled another promise he made in the 30 March Local Elections. The 4.5-kilometer-long 'Bicycle and Pedestrian Road' in Unye district was opened to the service of citizens.

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has implemented another healthy, reliable and environmentally friendly project. The 'Bicycle and Pedestrian Road Project', designed as a new living space on the Ünye coast, was put into service on the 4-meter-long route along the Bus Station and Çamlık entrance.

APPLIED BETWEEN OTO GAR AND ÇAMLIK ENTRANCE

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said that they are working to promote the use of bicycles and to create healthy walking, sports and resting areas for citizens. President Güler said, “The Ünye Bicycle and Green Walkway project, which is built along the 4,5 km long existing walking path, starts from opposite the Bus Station and ends at the Çamlık Entrance.”

IMPROVEMENTS MADE THROUGHOUT THE ROUTE

Stating that many works have been implemented along the route, Mayor Güler said, “We repaired the breakwaters on Kırkevler Beach. By removing the scattered sea fortifications between the Bus Station and Tabakhane Stream, we made a 1430-meter stone wall construction and a walkway widening work. In addition, we expanded the beach area, which was narrowed due to the irregular fortification, and made it available to our people. By extending the culvert next to the pier towards the sea, we created a green area in the part filled between the pier and the culvert.”

MANUFACTURING ON THE ROUTE HAS BEEN COMPLETED

Emphasizing that the productions on the route have been completed, Mayor Güler said, “The culvert in the middle of the beach was not suitable for hygiene. Although we have provided a discharge to the sea here, we have made Yunus Emre Park more useful with the green area and walking paths created between the pier and the culvert. In addition, we renewed the existing worn out walking path and created a bicycle and walking path. We have also completed the production of garbage cans, recycling garbage cans, sitting benches, urban furniture, 500 m wooden railings, sign boards, lighting and landscape irrigation. It is good for our district," he said.
