22 people were injured as a result of the collision of the metro and the high-speed train in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The accident occurred as a result of a subway running on the Tehran-Karaj line derailed and crashing into a high-speed train in the morning.
It was stated that 5 people were injured in the accident that occurred near the Chitgar Metro Station on the 22th line of the Tehran Metro, while the treatment of 11 people continued in the hospital.
Iranian Relief Agency SözcüSü Müçteba Halidi said, “We sent 19 ambulances to the scene. The collision took place on the 5th metro line serving between Tehran and Karaj in the morning hours.
Tehran Metro Company General Manager Ali Azadi, on the other hand, stated that the metro entered the high-speed train line and said, “An investigation has been launched regarding the accident. However, it is understood that the subway entered the high-speed train line and this caused the accident.
An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
