The children of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality employees had an unforgettable adventure at Gökmen Space Aviation Training Center (GUHEM) on December 21, the longest night of the year. Children, the space heroes of the future, witnessed what happened in the sky during the longest night.

GUHEM, which was implemented in an area of ​​approximately 13 thousand square meters in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and TUBITAK, hosted the children of the personnel working in the Metropolitan Municipality.

Within the scope of its in-house public relations activities, the Metropolitan Municipality, which has previously implemented different projects such as collecting books, collecting toys, and drawing a picture for children during the pandemic period, has signed a privileged event for December 21, the longest night of the year. GUHEM, which was brought to Bursa in order to enable science lovers from all age groups to gain knowledge and experience in space, aviation and technology, and to inspire young generations by creating awareness in the society, hosted the children of the Metropolitan family within the scope of the event. Approximately 200 children from the Metropolitan, BUSKI and affiliated companies witnessed the mystery of the sky on the longest night of the year. Children who also have the opportunity to learn about Turkey's aviation history; Unforgettable moments were experienced in GUHEM, which includes 154 interactive training facilities, aviation training center, space innovation laboratory, mathematics, robotic coding, space and aviation workshops.

Ulaş Akhan, Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality, did not leave the children of the employees of the institution alone on this special night. Expressing that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they want to tell the children what happened on the longest night of the year at GUHEM, Turkey's first space and aviation themed interactive center, Akhan said, “We discovered what is happening in the sky tonight with a total of 200 children in GUHEM with a magnificent adventure. Our children felt like the heroes of the future sky tonight. We believe that new pilots and space people will come from Bursa. Normally, there is an individual entrance fee to GUHEM, but for this night, we offered the children of our employees the opportunity to visit GUHEM free of charge. The establishment and strengthening of in-house public relations activities and corporate identity is very important in terms of corporate belonging. In 2022, our in-house activities will continue," he said.
