Expressing that the Izmir Art project is a very important project for the culture and art life of the city, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer“Culture and art are an obstacle to ignorance. An instrument that makes our living together enjoyable. Its deficiency deserts our lives, makes it barren, and impoverishes us. I want to share the democracy dimension of the business. Democracy is not just about going to the polls every five years. Democracy is the culture of living together, the law of living together, the beauty of living together. It is the greatest innovation humanity has found. What happened that the whole world is living under populist and authoritarian governments today? Is it a weakness of democracy? I don't think so. There is no weakness in the virtues and wealth of democracy. There is weakness in the tools used in the meeting of democracy with human communities. That's why we have to digitize democracy. We opened Visitİzmir, Turkey's first digital tourism encyclopedia. It brings together 2 points in İzmir, maps them and provides detailed information. It is interactive, you can add new points. It was a study that brought the tourism potential of İzmir to light. Very few in the world. İzmir Art is the digitization of the production of culture and art and the meeting of this production with people. All our desire; In order to breathe again in culture and arts in this barren, deserted climate, we bring more people together with the producers of culture and arts and what they produce.”
