International Support for Green Mass Transportation Systems

TED University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Business Administration Instructor The green project, conducted by its member Zafer Yılmaz, received Erasmus support. In addition to METU, the project also includes universities from Croatia, Romania and Slovenia.

TED University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Business Administration Instructor The project named “Energy Use and Green Public Transport in Smart Cities of the Future: An Innovative Curriculum for Students, Stakeholders and Entrepreneurs”, led by its member Zafer Yılmaz, was deemed worthy of support within the scope of “Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Higher Education Area Strategic Partnerships (KA203).

The education project, implemented under the leadership of TED University, will be the first of its kind in the world. The project includes training on how to program public transportation in smart cities in the future, how to predict possible transportation demands, and what green public transportation systems are for smart cities. The training program, which will raise awareness about green public transportation systems, will be an important resource especially for local governments and entrepreneurial candidates, as well as students and academicians.

Dr. Instructor Member Zafer Yılmaz said, “Our education project, which aims to raise awareness in this field by promoting green energy, will be the first open source education project at an international level. Our education project, which brings together academics from different fields, has a multi-disciplinary education model.” Stating that the training program consists of 6 training modules, 8 of which are 1 hours and 4 of which is 7 hours, and 1 supporting module, Dr. Instructor Member Zafer Yılmaz said, “We will apply the first draft of the program to students in Romania in April. After getting its final form, we will carry out its first application in Slovenia in September 2022. The training program, which will be broadcast online and live, will be open to everyone free of charge.
