Governor Davut Gül: "Hopefully, the new terminal building will be put into service on 25 December. The difference from the others is that the parking lot is very large. It is big enough to govern us for about 50 years.”

The new terminal building, which is expected to be opened on December 25 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will ensure that aviation activities are carried out in a higher quality and safe manner at international standards.

Preparations have come to the final stage at Gaziantep Airport New Terminal Building, where President Erdogan will be inaugurated shortly before he visits the province on the 100th Anniversary of Gaziantep's Liberation and participates in the celebration program.

Governor Davut Gul made an inspection at the Terminal Building and saw the last point reached on site. He visited the Terminal Building together with Oğuzeli District Governor Büşra Uçar, Provincial Police Chief Mustafa Emre Başbuğ, DHMI Gaziantep Manager Yasin Savaş and Contractor Company officials and gave instructions.

When the new Terminal Building is put into service, it is expected that the usage area will increase from 15 thousand square meters to 72 thousand 600 square meters, the annual passenger capacity will increase from 2.5 million to 6 million, and the number of aircraft parking will increase from 12 to 18, while the parking capacity will reach 585 vehicles from 2.049 vehicles.

In the new terminal building, where there are 50 counters for check-in, the domestic departure lounge is designed as 1425 square meters, the arrivals lounge is 859 square meters, the international arrivals lounge is 976 square meters, and the departing passenger lounge is designed as 622 square meters.

A feverish work is being carried out by the contractor company to prepare the Terminal Building for the opening.
