Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerIn line with the vision of “Another Disability Policy is Possible”, Metropolitan employees working in the field of disability were given accessibility training. The program will also be implemented in district municipalities between 27-31 December.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who strengthened the goal of barrier-free Izmir with the understanding of "Another Disability Policy is Possible" Tunç SoyerIn line with the vision of the Metropolitan Municipality, the accessibility training program given to the employees has been completed. Employees of all units working in the field of disability, having supervisory authority, serving in Izmir, producing work in the field of media and publicity, attended the training given by the Accessibility Unit of the Social Projects Department, Disabled Services Branch Directorate, between 20-25 December. Within the scope of the training, information was given under the titles of discourse, awareness and legislation.

The program will also be applied to the personnel in the district municipalities between 27-31 December. The training period, which covers a two-week process, will be completed at the awareness centers in Limontepe and Örnekköy established by the Metropolitan Municipality for disabled individuals.

“We must provide services by considering the needs of people with disabilities”

Within the scope of the Accessibility Coordination Commission works, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Eser Atak and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department Head Anıl Kaçar attended the meeting of the applied training program on the tracks in the awareness centers. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Eser Atak said, “I was very impressed with the presentations. It's been a good education. Congratulations to all our friends. These are very valuable and important trainings. There are things that we all need to pay attention to in our daily life. This is how we should maintain our services and policies. All the services we offer have to be given by considering the needs of people with disabilities.”
