Instead of increasing the government SCT share, a direct 30 percent discount should be made on fuel products. Gasoline and diesel should be reduced to 8 liras, LPG autogas to 6,5 liras," he said.

Due to the wrong decisions taken by the government in the economy, more than 20 hikes have been made in fuel products in the last two months, reflecting the pump prices. Every increase in the exchange rate was directly reflected in the fuel prices, and in this process, the liter prices of gasoline and diesel reached the limit of 12 liras. The government has reflected every increase in the exchange rate directly on the fuel products, and during this time, it has been started to increase almost every 2 days, reflecting the pump prices.

SHARE OF THOUGHT WILL BE GIVEN TO SCT, NOT TO CITIZEN

In this context, while a direct discount is expected in fuel products; The government has once again shown that it does not care about citizens. According to the Presidential decision published in the Official Gazette, the SCT amount from fuel will be increased by the amount of the decrease in foreign currency prices. Accordingly, the government, which reflects the rise in the exchange rate directly to the citizens with successive hikes, will use the decrease in the exchange rate to increase the SCT share. According to the decision, the share of SCT taken from fuel products will be increased by 2 liras and 70 kuruş.

DISCOUNT ON FUEL SHOULD BE 30 PERCENT

Instead of increasing the SCT on fuel, the government should reflect the price of 30 November 22 to pump prices with a 2021 percent decrease in foreign currency. In this context, the fuel price hikes planned as of December 21, 2021 have been cancelled. However, canceling the hikes alone is not enough. Depending on the decrease in the exchange rate, the liter of gasoline, which is 11 liras and 6 kurus, should be reduced to 8 liras. Similarly, the price of diesel, whose liter price is 11 liras and 50 cents, should be reduced to 8 liras. The price of LPG autogas, whose liter price is 9 liras and 5 kurus, should be reduced to 6 liras and 50 cents as soon as possible. In other words, taking into account the decrease in the exchange rate in fuel prices, the share of SCT should not be increased, but a direct reduction of 30 percent should be made.”
