Alstom has won two signaling tenders to support Turkey's General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM) and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in their efforts to improve the signaling infrastructure in the country.
The scope of AYGM covers the construction and supply of electromechanical works of the approximately 201 km long Bandırma– Bursa– Yenişehir– Osmaneli (BBYO) high standard railway project.
Alstom, Kalyon Construction Industry and Trade Inc. Through the Interflo 250 and 450 will supply the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) level 1 and 2 and will deploy the entire Interlocking system, including the Traffic Control Center (CTC). In addition, Alstom will install an intelligent object controller with the system to eliminate the obsolescence risks associated with legacy systems, and improve the reliability, performance and functionality of the line's signaling systems over modern fiber-based digital networks and GSMR (Railway communication system). At the end of the project, the BBYO line will be fully interoperable with all existing trains in the Turkish network.
The second contract with the Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli (CSS) metro line of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will include construction and electromechanical supply works. Doğuş Construction and Trade Inc. – Yapı Merkezi Construction and Industry. Inc. – Özaltın Construction Trade and Industry Inc. JV, Alstom will supply, test and commission the entire signaling system of the 11 km-long Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli (CSS) metro line with a carrying capacity of 120.000 passengers/hour. Supply of 4 stations for 8 new trains and roadside equipment for onboard systems, Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling.
