The overvaluation in foreign currency could not slow the pace of e-commerce, and records were broken again in Legend Friday and other November campaigns.

Güçlü Kayral, co-founder of Turkey's first cash-back shopping site, Advantageix.com, said that in November, three different global campaigns such as 11.11, Legendary Friday and Cyber Monday were organized, the turnover of e-commerce is expected to be announced as approximately 50 billion TL.

INCREASE IN TRADING VOLUME 80-85 PERCENT

Reminding that the turnover was 2020 billion TL in November 27,2, Kayral said:

“Compared to November of last year, there will be an 80-85 percent increase in transaction volume. In fact, we are slightly below the general expectation. The sector expected historical increases of 100-120 percent. Although the overvaluation in the currency did not prevent new records from being set, it brought the level of the record down a little. In such periods when uncertainty is very intense, people generally refrain from shopping and give importance to saving. However, the campaigns were so attractive that millions of people could not stand it, flocked to the shopping malls and wandered in the e-commerce marketplaces until the morning.”

CAMPAIGNS WILL CONTINUE IN DECEMBER

Noting that the November campaigns are concentrated in the categories of ready-to-wear, shoes, small household appliances, home textiles and personal care products, especially electronics, Kayral said, “The campaigns in e-commerce will continue in December as well. Especially before the New Year, sales records will be broken again. If the fluctuation in the currency ends, the turnovers for December this year may exceed November. The general expectation is that the transaction volume will be in the range of TL 100-120 million in November-December. By the end of 2021, we expect the overall e-commerce volume in Turkey to reach 450 billion TL," he said.

Kayral reminded that those who participated in the 11.11, Legendary Friday and Cyber Monday campaigns through Advantageix, in addition to the discounts, were able to shop at a much cheaper price, adding that the campaigns in December could also be applied for on Advantageix.com.
