Some Roads Will Be Closed to Vehicle Traffic Due to New Year's Celebrations in Ankara

Ankara Governor's Office announced that some roads in the city will be closed to vehicle traffic as part of safety measures as of 31 December at 19.00.

According to the statement on the website of the governorship, safety measures will be taken to ensure peace and security in the streets and streets where pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected to be intense during the New Year celebrations throughout the capital, such as YHT, AŞTİ, hotels, shopping centers, parks and gardens, and entertainment venues.

Roads to be closed to vehicle traffic on New Year's Eve in Ankara

In this context, within the scope of security measures to be taken in order to ensure the peace and security of our people in YHT, AŞTI, hotels, shopping malls, parks/gardens, avenues and streets where there are entertainment venues, it is considered that pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be intense regarding the New Year celebrations to be held throughout Ankara. From 31 on Friday, December 2021;

* The part of Ashgabat Street between Akdeniz Street and 54th Street and all the streets/streets leading to it are two-way,

* The part of Bestekar Street between Tunalı Hilmi Street and JF Kennedy Street and all of the streets/streets that open here are bidirectional,

* In case of need, the section of Atatürk Boulevard between Sıhhiye Orduevi and Akay Junction and all of the avenues/streets opening here are two-way,

* In case of need, GMK Boulevard and all of the streets/streets leading to it are two-way,

* In case of need, the section of Ziya Gökalp Street between the College Junction and the Kızılay Junction and all of the streets/streets opening here are bidirectional,

* In case of need, the section of Milli Müdafaa Avenue between GMK Boulevard and Yahya Galip Avenue and all of the streets/streets opening here are two-way,

* In case of need, 54th Street and all streets leading to it are two-way,

* In case of need, the section of Tunalı Hilmi Street between Kuğulu Park and Esat Street and all of the streets/streets opening here are bidirectional,

* In case of need, the part of Tunisia Street between Tunalı Hilmi Street and JF Kennedy Street and all of the streets/streets opening here are bidirectional,

* In case of need, Palestine Street and all streets/streets leading to it are two-way,

* In case of need, Kumrular Sokak and all the avenue/streets leading to it will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions until the end of the events.

It is considered that it will be beneficial for our citizens to take into account the condition of the roads to be closed to traffic and to take care in using public transport so that they do not experience victimization.
