Konya Metropolitan Municipality is building new bicycle paths in Konya, which is known as the "Bicycle City" and has 550 kilometers of bicycle path network.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they are continuing their work on bicycle path construction within the scope of Turkey's first Bicycle Master Plan approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Noting that with the support of the Ministry and ILBANK, they have rolled up their sleeves to build another 35 kilometers of new bike paths in the city center, Mayor Altay said, “We are doing our best for cyclists to travel safely and comfortably. In this context, we have started the construction of bicycle paths in many of our streets. We are working to ensure complete bicycle path connections in the city center. We continue to build bicycle paths for alternative streets that we have opened in order to reduce the traffic load of the city. We offer bicycle paths to the service of Konya cyclists by building bicycle paths on Abdülhamid Han Street, İsmail Ketenci Street, Celaleddin Karatay Street and Gaza Street, which we have just put into service.” said.

President Altay added that they will continue to increase the bike lanes of Konya and to carry out activities that will raise awareness about cycling.
