Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu gave good news to the workers serving under the Information Technologies and Communication Presidency. Underlining that the wages and social rights of BTK workers have been improved, Karaismailoğlu said, "With the scale study and these improvements, a raise between 20 and 70 percent has been made since the beginning of this year."

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the signing ceremony of the second additional protocol of the collective bargaining agreement between the Information Technologies and Communication Presidency and Öz İletişim-İş Union. Karaismailoğlu stated that the negotiations for the determination of the new minimum wage, which are closely related to millions of employees, continue, and that he wholeheartedly believes that the new minimum wage will be determined at the best point that Turkey deserves.

WAGE AND SOCIAL RIGHTS IMPROVED

Karaismailoğlu, “2. The additional protocol includes the improvement of the wages and social rights of our fellow workers serving under the BTK. As a result of the scale study and these improvements, BTK workers have been increased by 20 percent to 70 percent at the end of the day since the beginning of this year. With this study, we have shown once again that; Today, as yesterday, we did not oppress our working brothers and sisters to inflation," he said.

COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF OUR SOCIAL STATE UNDERSTANDING

Karaismailoğlu said, "The collective bargaining agreements signed by our Ministry are a good example of our understanding of the social state," and that Turkey, along with the whole world, had an intense period in the fight against the pandemic. Emphasizing that the world's economies have shrunk and regressed in the last two years, and that Turkey has always turned the wheels of the economy with the measures it has taken and fast and appropriate interventions, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“The best indicator of this is our economic growth, which was 2021 percent in the first quarter of 7, 21,7 percent in the second quarter and 7,4 percent in the third quarter. We are among the first countries in the world with these rates. This is also a manifestation of the Turkish workers' trust in their institutions, our government and our country. As the Ministry, we are working to improve these rates and to ensure that the prosperity that will increase with the growth of the new Turkey reaches every household. We build our roads and bridges, develop our railways, and wage a national struggle to put Turkey among the world's top 10 economies. We are continuing our planned investments in order to make our country a logistics superpower in the Middle Corridor between China and Europe.”

Noting that as the Ministry, they have prepared Turkey for a new era in terms of communication and communication competencies with holistic development-oriented moves, Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, noted that by providing the infrastructure of technologies that develop at a dizzying pace, they offer services beyond the age to the use of the nation. Karaismailoğlu said, “We have seen once again with the pandemic; Even in the most extreme situations, if your infrastructure is solid, the training continues. Things are going on. Social life continues. If there are those who have not fully grasped the value of the work we do, let them take a look at the process we have left behind. Everyone who works in the field of communication, who works hard to establish and develop the communication infrastructure of our country, is the hero of this process. As in every mode of transportation, the development in our communication and informatics sector has gained great momentum since 2003. A great success has been achieved with the growth rate of the information sector, which was 2020 percent in 16, reaching 2021 percent in the first half of 19.

WE WANT TO BE THE COUNTRY THAT GIVES DIRECTION, NOT FOLLOWING TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS

Pointing out that the fiber line length has exceeded 445 thousand kilometers, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“The number of broadband subscribers, which was 20 thousand, reached 86 million. Our subscriber density is 21 percent in fixed and 82 percent in mobile. The number of mobile subscribers reached 85 million and 93 percent of the subscribers started using the 4.5G service. The average tariff fee of our mobile operators, which was 10 cents per minute 8,6 years ago, has decreased to 1,3 cents today. The amount of internet usage increased by 39 percent in fixed and 31 percent in mobile on an annual basis compared to the same period of the previous year. Our goal in the field of informatics is also very clear; We want to be a country that guides, not follows technological developments. Especially with 5g technologies, we will increase our domestic and nationality rates in the sector much higher. We contribute to our country's exports and employment by producing hardware and software products, most of which are imported, with our own means. The infrastructure we have established; There was work, there was food, there was education, there was culture, there was art. It has been the lifeblood of our national economy and social life. For this reason, we were once again sure that; non-stop. We say we continue on our way with our 'End-to-End Domestic and National 5G Communication Network Project', our 5G and even 6G studies, our cyber security system, our communication satellites, our R&D studies, our international collaborations, and most importantly, our goal of providing these services with domestic and national facilities to a large extent. ”
