Harran University students will produce domestic unmanned aerial vehicles with Herd Spraying, Fertilization and Imaging features for use in smart agriculture. The software, design and manufacture of the UAVs, which will be made under the supervision of 5 instructors working in the Faculty of Engineering, will be entirely owned by the students themselves.

Harran University continues to increase its support for the development of Digital Agricultural Technologies for the effective and efficient use of Şanlıurfa's agricultural potential. With the Herd Spraying, Fertilizing and Imaging Team project, spraying and liquid fertilization will be carried out without damaging the products in the UAV laboratory established in the Mechanical Engineering Department under the leadership of the faculty of Engineering Faculty. In addition, herd UAV teams capable of phytosanitary control and yield estimation will be produced.

The vehicles produced will be designed to carry payloads of 16-25 kg. In addition, the useful load capacity can be increased or decreased according to the land situation. With the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, whose airtime is set to be 20-25 minutes, 5 decares of area will be sprayed by working in flocks of 150 per hour. In addition, aerial images will be taken with multispectral cameras, the condition of the land will be examined and the crops will be monitored.

At the same time, thanks to the high image processing technology of the UAVs produced, it will be possible to detect insects and similar pests on plants early and take precautions against product losses. The herd UAV team, most of which will be prepared using locally developed software and algorithms, will offer innovative solutions in the field of Digital Agricultural Technologies.
