In the operation carried out by the Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams at the Gürbulak Customs Gate, 462,5 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine drugs were seized in the fuel tank of a truck. It was determined that the seizure in question was the highest amount of seizure in the history of our country in this area.
In the analysis carried out within the scope of the fight against drug smuggling carried out by the Gürbulak Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate, a truck with a foreign license plate coming from Iran was evaluated as risky.
A suspicious concentration was found in the fuel tank of the truck, which was sent to the X-ray scanning device. Thereupon, the vehicle taken to the search hangar was checked with narcotic detector dogs. The fuel tank, to which the narcotic detector dogs also reacted, was separated from the vehicle, then cut open.
It was determined that a secret compartment was created in the opened fuel tank and this compartment was filled with a different liquid substance to give the impression of fuel. In the analysis of the sample taken from the liquid substance in question with a drug and chemical substance test device, it was determined that it was a methamphetamine type drug.
It was determined that the weight of the drug, which was transferred from the secret compartments in the warehouse to the plastic bins with the help of the pump, was 462,5 kilograms. In addition, it was found that there were empty plastic bins in the side cabinet of the vehicle trailer. In the analysis of the residues in these cans, it was understood that the drug in the tank was transferred to the fuel tank with these cans.
With the successful operation of the Customs Enforcement teams, the highest amount of liquid methamphetamine seized in the history of Turkey was signed. While the vehicle used in the transport of drugs was seized, the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody.
