IMM Assembly discussed İSKİ's water hike proposal. The AK Party and MHP Group offered a 17.80 percent increase. He also requested the re-implementation of the 0.5 cubic meter human right to use water, which the Court of Accounts found illegal. With the decision adopted by a majority of votes, water bills will be reflected to Istanbul residents with an average of 6 percent discount.
The first meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Assembly in December was held at Yenikapı Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center.
After the negotiations, the proposal from İSKİ, which envisaged a 36.2 percent increase in water price, was rejected by a majority of votes. The proposal of the AK Party and MHP Group to increase the water price by 2022 percent, effective from January 17.80, was approved by the opposition of the CHP and IYI Party and by a majority of votes.
When the re-accepted Human Water Usage Fee was removed, a 6 percent reduction in water prices was achieved in Istanbul.
