Examining the investments realized in Yedikuyular Ski Center, one of the attraction centers of winter tourism, on-site, Metropolitan Mayor Hayrettin Güngör said, “We aim to host 500 thousand visitors this season, with the Yedikuyular, Bedesten Bazaar, Bungalow Houses and restaurant, which we have renewed with infrastructure and superstructure projects. We will make Yedikuyular a brand with the works we continue.”
Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Hayrettin Güngör examined the investments in Yedikuyular Ski Center, one of the attraction centers of winter tourism in Turkey. During the visit, in which the Metropolitan Municipality and the members of the Youth Council were also present, Mayor Hayrettin Güngör stated that a serious increase in the number of tourists is aimed with the new works in the region. Chairman Güngör said, “Every year we develop and strengthen the infrastructure of Yedikuyular. First of all, we brought a very wide and high standard road to our facility. On the other hand, one of the important problems in our ski center was the water problem. Thankfully, we met that need with drilling and storage works. When we look at our surrounding cities alone, Yedikuyular appeals to a population of approximately 10 million. In order to increase the number of our visitors, we have made significant investments especially in indoor and accommodation areas. Hopefully, we will offer these facilities to our visitors in the season.”
Capacity increased 4 times
Mayor Güngör said, “The Bedesten, which we have brought to the last stage as the Metropolitan Municipality, will be finished in a short time. With the opening of this facility, we will offer our visitors a modern eating and drinking place. In addition, 25 Bungalow houses that we had built with the build-operate-transfer model were completed. We also have a restaurant section there. This is an important step we have taken regarding the accommodation service. With this investment alone, we have increased our facility capacity 4 times. In the upcoming period, we have a hotel project in the region. With a very extensive master plan for Yedikuyular, we will have implemented the work on the chairlift and new runways.”
Our Visitor Goal is 500 Thousand
Stating that more than 100 thousand visitors were hosted in Yedikuyular last year despite the restrictions of the pandemic, President Hayrettin Güngör said, “Despite all the limited opportunities of the pandemic, we receive more than 100 thousand visitors. But we set our target for this year as 500 thousand. We intend to raise this even higher with the steps we will take in the coming years. This has important economic benefits to our city. We aim to increase the tourism share of our Kahramanmaraş day by day with the works we carry out in the natural beauties of our city such as Yedikuyular Ski Center.
