Providing information on the line, Karaismailoğlu said: “BTK Railway Line was put into operation on October 30, 2017 by the cooperation of Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan, by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the managers of the countries in the region. With a total length of 829 kilometers, 504 kilometers are located in Azerbaijan, 246 kilometers in Georgia and 79 kilometers in Turkey. said.

Emphasizing that the line, which provides an advantageous location for Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan in international transportation, also constitutes an important link in the Middle Corridor, Karaismailoğlu said: “The line, together with Marmaray, allows uninterrupted railway transportation between China and Europe. The safe and economical transportation model that railway transportation will bring contributes to the increase and enrichment of the trade volumes of the countries in the Eurasian Region. It is aimed to transport 3,2 million tons of cargo in the medium term and 6,5 million tons in the long term from the line. Karaismailoğlu, who informed that the target of block container trains that continue their regular voyages over the Middle Corridor and BTK Railway Line on the China-Turkey line is to operate 100 block trains per year in the short term and 200 block trains per year in the medium term, and 1500 block trains per year from the Middle Corridor and BTK route in the long term. It is expected that the total cruise time between China and Turkey will be reduced to 10 days.

Karaismailoğlu stated that in order to strengthen the logistics power in the international arena, it is aimed to increase the rail freight transportation on the China-Turkey-Europe line via BTK Railway and Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and to use this road for export transportation from Turkey to China. he added.
