The biggest of the “EU-Modex Field Exercise” events to date was successfully held in Tekirdağ between 11-14 November 2021, hosted by AKUT and AFAD. 378 from France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Greece participated in the exercise, in which AKUT also took part in the management team and field management; A total of 1337 people, including 1715 people from Turkey, participated. AKUT participated in the exercise with a total of 13 teams and 100 volunteers from Bursa, Denizli, Manisa, Kuşadası, İzmir, Marmaris, Peninsula, Ankara, Afyonkarahisar, İstanbul, Eskişehir, Kocaeli and Tekirdağ. The Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu also attended the event, which was held for the first time in our country, and received information about the exercise and the work done from the Chairman of the Board of AKUT, Recep Şalcı. The exercise ended with the closing ceremony, where Tekirdağ Governor Aziz Yıldırım presented the participating teams with their certificates.

AKUT was held in Tekirdag between 11-14 November 2021, with the participation of 378 people from France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and 1337 people from Turkey, in total 1715 people, which are included in the European Civil Protection Mechanism. The biggest of the EU-Modex Field Exercise to date, which was carried out with the aim of gaining experience by acting jointly in search and rescue teams in search and rescue and medical response activities after disasters and earthquakes; hosted and also took part in the management team and field management.

The exercise, which took place in the 7,4 magnitude earthquake scenario and lasted for 3 days, was carried out in the areas of rescue from high floors, fire response from the sea, rescue from a crane, transportation accident, search for lost water, medical rescue, and medical evacuation by helicopter. The exercise, in which the Minister of Internal Affairs Süleyman Soylu also participated and received information from the Chairman of the Board of AKUT, Recep Şalcı, about the work carried out; It ended with the closing ceremony in which Tekirdağ Governor Aziz Yıldırım presented the certificates to the teams participating in the exercise.

AKUT participated in the exercise with a total of 13 teams and 100 volunteers from Bursa, Denizli, Manisa, Kuşadası, İzmir, Marmaris, Peninsula, Ankara, Afyonkarahisar, İstanbul, Eskişehir, Kocaeli and Tekirdağ. During the exercise, the operational team of AKUT, working in 4 different debris fields as per the scenario, with its disciplined and devoted volunteers and search and rescue dogs Bob and Athamaz; He delivered the bodies of 4 earthquake victims and 1 citizen to the medical teams by crossing the difficult tracks prepared. Experienced AKUT volunteers in the exercise management distribute and follow up the scenarios that need to be implemented to national and international teams; AKUT volunteers in the field management carried out managerial tasks such as checking the occupational safety of the work area and the teams, reporting the malfunctioning situations, ensuring that the exercise scenarios are realized as determined and corrected if there is any deviation from the scenario.

For the first time with AKUT, at ModEx, where an NGO consisting entirely of volunteers is a consortium partner; Again thanks to AKUT, we conducted the largest ModEx exercise organized by a partner in their country. As the first organization in Turkey accredited by the UN and EU, actions such as successfully representing our country in disasters abroad and taking part in the management of an international exercise are very important success stops.
