It is taking the necessary steps for a more resilient Istanbul against climate change. ISTANBUL CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN

IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, by signing the “Deadline 2019” commitments held in Copenhagen in 2020, started the Climate Action Plan revision process. As a member of the C2005 network, which was formed by world cities in London in October 40 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions despite climate change, Istanbul is doing its part. After 1,5 years of work, Istanbul is taking an important step towards becoming a carbon neutral and climate crisis-resistant city. A roadmap was created for the steps planned to be taken until 2050.

The plan, which is unique among European Cities in terms of population density and targets and prepared by IMM Environmental Protection and Control Department, Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SECAP) prepared by the same department, Istanbul Waste Management Plan, Sustainable Urban Planning prepared by IMM Department of Transportation It is being implemented in parallel with other policy documents such as the Mobility Plan (SUMP). This strategy is being evaluated within the framework of the Vision 2050 Strategy Document, which is being prepared by the Istanbul Planning Agency and which sets out the future vision of the city.

THREE FACILITIES WILL BE IN SERVICE

IMM will activate three new facilities in November for a cleaner environment. Kemerburgaz Biomethanization Facility, IMM Waste Incineration and Energy Production Facility, Emirli 2nd Stage Drinking Water Treatment Facility will be put into service one after another.
