İGA Returns 7.95 Million Euro Payment for Metro Construction

IGA, the operator of Istanbul Airport, returned the 7.95 million euros that were paid extra for the metro to the airport.
It was stated that İGA gave back the approximate additional payment allocated for the metro construction.

According to the news of Mustafa Çakır from Cumhuriyet;” In its statement, İGA announced that it has repaid the 7.95 million euros extra payment for the metro construction to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on 5 November.

What happened?

HDP Batman Deputy Necdet İpekyüz drew attention to the 2020 Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure report of the Court of Accounts in the parliamentary question submitted by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, and stated that İGA did not carry out some excavation works in the Gayrettepe Metro construction, which was supposed to be undertaken according to the contract.

It was stated that these works were carried out by the company that won the subway tender, while the ministry paid approximately 8 million euros to İGA.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu also acknowledged that the money had not yet been recovered in his response to the motion.
