At the meeting, the 2022 budget and performance program of IETT, which is affiliated to the IMM, was presented. The budget was approved unanimously. The 2022 budget, presented by IETT General Manager Alper Bilgili, was determined as 7 billion 700 million TL. 2 billion 250 million TL of the budget will be balanced with debt.
NUMBER OF FAULTS DROPPED

“TRYING TO CREATE PERCEPTION”
Bilgili pointed out that the fact that all buses in Istanbul are gathered under one roof and painted in yellow creates a false perception and said, “Unfortunately, we witness that there is an attempt to create a false perception about malfunctions as a result of interpreting every bus that has turned yellow as if it is their own vehicle operated and maintained by IETT. we became However, since IETT is a leading public institution in its field, it is also well-equipped and experienced in vehicle maintenance processes. We are now starting to apply the comprehensive technical inspections we have applied to IETT vehicles in our garages to private public buses and IUAŞ vehicles. We started to carry out technical inspections equivalent to TÜV inspection for private transportation vehicles in our 10 garages. In 2022, we foresee that we will further reduce the number of breakdowns by increasing the technical inspection and maintenance quality of all tire-wheeled vehicles.”
OPEN TENDER AND LIVE BROADCAST
Bilgili stated that the entire vehicle maintenance service procurement process was carried out within the framework of the open tender procedure and the requirements of the public tender institution, and said, “In our maintenance tenders for 18-22 months, at least 30 relevant companies have received documents through the EKAP system; For each tender, at least 3 to 5 bidders submitted their price offers. The maintenance of IETT vehicles is carried out by 5 different companies that won the tenders they entered as a result of the bids they submitted in the open tenders they participated in are the lowest price offers. In addition, in accordance with the principle of transparency, we broadcast our last BRT vehicle purchase tender live, and we will continue to broadcast our similar high-amount tenders live.”
NEW METROBUSES ARE COMING IN 2022
Emphasizing that their most important investment in the recent period will be new vehicles that will join the metrobus fleet, Bilgili said, “Unfortunately, no new vehicle purchase auctions could be held in the 2016 years since 5, after the legislation change that prevented the purchase of goods in foreign currency in the past. With our own resources, 85 percent of which is 72 monthly installments; By making a purchase tender in Turkish Lira, we ordered 100 single articulated and 60 double articulated high-capacity and first domestic BRT vehicles. With our new metrobuses, the deliveries of which will begin in the first quarter of 2022, we will provide our passengers with the opportunity to travel more comfortably and safely.” He also announced that they aim to buy 2022 more metrobuses in 100. Bilgili, with the new vehicles to join the fleet in 2022; He said that they plan to reduce it from 11 to 9 on the metrobus line and from 10 to 9 on the buses.
“WE TAKED OVER 140 MILLION EURO DEBT”
He also gave information about the debt situation of the knowledgeable institution. Stating that they took over 2019 million Euros of debt from the previous period as IETT in 140, Bilgili said:
“Euro 110 million of this debt consisted of overdue debts that could not be paid in the previous period. The debt of 45 million Euros within the overdue payables is the installments of the buses purchased in the 2013-2017 period, which could not be paid in due time. IETT had difficulty in paying its debts on time due to the gap between its revenues and expenses in the last 10 years and had to transfer a heavy debt burden to the new management. Due to the difference between income and expenditure that has increased in the last 10 years, rubber-tyred public transportation service is subsidized by IMM to a large extent every year. Except for investment and project supports, IMM will have provided 1 billion 850 million TL of support only to IETT until the end of this year. It is foreseen that this amount will be around 2022 billion TL in 2,2.”
