About the German Folk Songs Group:

“They haven't been listed or received an award over the years. It was as if they had disappeared. For all these years, no one listened to their voices. At first, neither the cameras were directed at them, nor the newspapers and magazines opened their pages to them. Only in Germany? No one knew about them in their distant homeland, where they left their roots. However, the sales figures were unbelievable.

One of the biggest hits of the music industry in Germany in 1974; It was the song “Theo, wir fahren nach Lodz” performed by Vicky Leandros. According to official figures, the record sold 400 thousand copies and conquered the hearts of all Germans. However, a year later, Yüksel Özkasap's “White Horseman”, which his fans referred to as the “Cologne Nightingale”, would double Leandros' sales figures and exceed 800 thousand. No one would even notice. Perhaps no one still knows that “The White Horseman” is one of the best-selling records of all time in Germany.”
