Accelerating its efforts for citizens to travel fast, comfortably, safely and modernly in urban transportation as well as in intercity transportation, the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) has made great strides in the Gaziray Project and Mersin-Gaziantep High Speed ​​​​Train line works. Examining the works carried out with great care, TCDD General Manager Metin Akbaş received detailed information about infrastructure, signaling and electrification works.

Work continues at full speed on the Gaziray Project, which will provide modern suburban service in the comfort of the subway between Başpınar and Oduncular in Gaziantep. Meeting with the personnel working in the 6th Regional Directorate, General Manager Akbaş; received information from the personnel about infrastructure, signaling and electrification works.

General Manager Akbaş later visited Mersin-Gaziantep HT line. General Manager Akbaş, who met with the workers working in the field, participated in the rail welding test studies, which constitute the most important parts of the infrastructure, and saw the progress of the project on site.

General Manager Akbaş said, “In urban and intercity transportation, we will establish more effective coordination with our stakeholders and teammates in order for our projects to be completed on the determined schedule and for our citizens to have faster and more comfortable railway transportation; We will continue to work with all our energy.”

WORK CONTINUES 7/24 TO BRING CITIZENS TOGETHER WITH GAZIRAY

A new signaled and electric railway will be built between Başpınar-Gaziantep-Oduncular with the project, which aims to create sufficient traffic capacity for YHT, conventional train and suburban operations, carried out in cooperation between TCDD and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, in Gaziantep, the industrial and commercial capital of Southeastern Anatolia. .

Within the scope of the project, a total of 2 km of new railways, including 2 suburban lines and 25,5 high-speed train lines, are being built within a 112 km route. In addition, Gaziantep Gar area will be integrated with urban transportation and will be a transfer center. Gaziray, which will reduce the travel time between Başpınar and Oduncular to 30 minutes when the project is completed, will serve 5 thousand passengers daily with trains to be operated every 358 minutes.
