The Women Sailing Sports Club Association, sponsored by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZDENİZ General Directorate İzmir Marina, won the second trophy in the IRC 2 category and the third trophy in all IRC 4 Women's Sailing groups in the Presidential 4nd International Yacht Races.

The Women Sailing Sports Club Association, sponsored by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZDENİZ General Directorate İzmir Marina, returned from Istanbul with two trophies.
The Women's Sailing Sports Club Association competed together with the men's and women's teams in the “IRC 10” category for three days on the Mat10 boat with Captain (Skipper) Peyvend Öksüz and his crew of 4. The association gave İzmir the excitement of a cup by winning the second trophy in the IRC 4 category and the third trophy in all IRC 4 Women's Sailing groups.
Trained at Izmir Marina
Participating in the 29nd International Yacht Races held in Istanbul between 31-2 October under the auspices of the Presidency, the Women Sailing Sports Club Association trained in Izmir Marina for the three-day races. Within the scope of the sponsorship, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZDENİZ logo were featured on the main sail of the boat in which the Women's Sailing Sports Club Association competed, and on the clothes worn by all the racers.
Öksüz: “We are very happy”
Peyvend Öksüz, founding member of the Women Sailing Sports Club Association, said, “The Presidential International Yacht Races were very important for us. We have a team of 10 people with members from Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul. We had a nice three days. We did our training in Izmir Marina and went to Istanbul with the sponsorship of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and General Directorate of IZDENIZ Izmir Marina. We came back from Istanbul by winning two trophies, we are very happy”.
Founded in 2019
The Women Sailing Sports Club Association was established with five people in 2019 to spread the sport of sailing among women with the slogan “Reset the Heels”. The association currently has more than 80 members. The association, which has participated in a total of four races to date, including the Istanbul Mermaid Sailing Cup and Arkas Winter Trophy Races, has two runner-up cups.
