EGO General Directorate brought 2 thousand 604 saplings together with the soil

While the "Green Capital" campaign initiated by the Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş in Ankara continued, EGO General Directorate carried out a forestation project at the Koru Metro Operation and Maintenance Center Campus on the occasion of its 79th anniversary. EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş stated that they brought 2 thousand 604 saplings together with the soil and said, “This year, next year, we will try to breathe life into Ankara by organizing such events on our 80th and 81st anniversary. We will paint Ankara green,” he said.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its environment-oriented works for a greener Ankara.

EGO General Directorate afforested the Koru Metro Operation and Maintenance Center Campus for the 79th anniversary of its establishment.

In the event held on the "November 11 National Afforestation Day", 2 saplings consisting of spruce, cedar, cypress and larch, procured from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the General Directorate of ASKİ, were brought together with the soil.

“WE WILL TRY TO BREATHE ANKARA”

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş, Deputy General Managers Halit Özdilek and Emin Güre, Heads of Departments Ayten Gök, Serpil Arslan, Serdar Yeşilyurt, Barış Yıldız, Bülent Kılıç, Yahya Şanlıer, İsmail Nalbant, Ali Yayla and Bülent Özkan attended the planting ceremony. EGO staff showed great interest.

EGO General Manager Nihat Alkaş stated that they want to raise awareness by pointing out that they support the afforestation efforts in the capital, and said:

“We know that green spaces in cities add value to cities and make cities more livable. We know the love of our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, for green and his desire to paint all parts of Ankara green. In line with this purpose, we will try to breathe life into Ankara by organizing such events this year, next year, and on our 80th and 81st anniversary. We will paint Ankara green.”

Saying that he is happy to participate in the planting event of the Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out environmentally friendly projects, EGO personnel Özgür Demirkol said, “Trees, nature and children are very valuable, they are our future. The better we raise them, the more we value them, the better our future will be. I invite everyone to plant trees”, while another EGO employee Bircan Kara expressed her thoughts, “It is very nice to participate in the tree planting activity here. We are happy if we have contributed to the greening of Ankara”.

THE “CAPITAL OF GREEN” CAMPAIGN CONTINUES

While Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş's "Capital of Green" campaign started on March 18 to increase the number of green spaces in the city and create commemorative forests, the total number of orders has reached 17 thousand 2021 until today (as of 8 November 992). the number of trees increased to 21 thousand 792.

Citizens who bought trees on “yesilinbaskenti.com” showed great interest in the campaign, while the amount of life package received reached 1 million 367 thousand 450 TL.
