Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced today that e-signatures will begin to be uploaded to the ID card within a month. Minister Soylu said, "We will offer a brand new convenience to our citizens with e-signature." Previously, driver's licenses started to be loaded on new identities. By installing e-signature on chip ID cards, bureaucracy will be reduced. One of the documents required to open a business will be missing. With this arrangement, the e-seal application will also be introduced.

The e-government application, which provides service area to more than fifty million users, will also expand. With electronic signature, litigation and registry transactions can be done. Tax debts will be questioned, customs procedures can be followed.

Private companies will also be able to benefit from the application, the infrastructure of which TÜBİTAK has prepared. E-signature is also very important to ensure security. If the identity cards are lost, the e-signature will also lose its validity. After the new identity card is issued, the electronic signature will be re-defined into the system.

How can electronic signature applications be made from e-government?

Electronic signature applications can be made through e-Government portal services as of December 21, 2021. In addition, TR ID cards can be used to sign electronically.

Documents required for individual e-signature application:

  • Qualified Electronic Certificate application form with undertaking
  • The original of a document that can be used officially, such as an identity card or driver's license containing the TR identity number of the applicant

Corporate e-signature application

Documents required for corporate e-signature application:

  • Qualified Electronic Certificate application form with undertaking
  • A copy of the signature circular
  • The original of a document that can be used officially, such as an identity card or driver's license containing the TR identity number of the applicant
  • The original of an activity document obtained from the Trade Registry Office within the last six months
