BISIM Removed the Barrier Between Wheelchairs and Bicycles

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has started a new application that will bring the physically disabled people together with bicycles after the visually impaired. Disabled individuals will share the pleasure of cycling with the connection apparatus they can obtain from BISIM points. Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer After the tandem bicycle application, which was implemented for the first time in Turkey for visually impaired individuals to enjoy cycling freely, it has now removed the barrier between wheelchairs and bicycles. Thanks to the application, which was launched for the first time in Turkey by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, individuals with physical disabilities will be able to connect their wheelchairs to bicycles and enjoy the bicycle-friendly city of Izmir with their loved ones, thanks to the special part to be procured from the Intelligent Bicycle Rental System (BISIM) stations.

What will the application be like?

Citizens using wheelchairs will be able to call BISIM Call Center on 0232 433 51 55 and request the necessary equipment for 10 TL. The motorcycle couriers of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will come to BISIM stations and make the wheelchairs ready for use by mounting them on BISIM or personal bicycles within 15 minutes. After the bike tour, the teams will take delivery of the device by disassembling it from the point where the disabled person ends his trip, again via phone.
