ASELSAN CATS Electro Optical System order contract for Bayraktar TB2021 S/UAV was signed between Baykar Defense and ASELSAN at SAHA EXPO 2. The CATS Electro Optic Systems to be procured have been ordered for Bayraktar TB2s to be used domestically.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited ASELSAN's Akyurt facilities on March 20, 2021. During the visit to the facilities where ASELSAN's Microelectronic Guidance and Electro-Optic Sector Presidency is located, Minister Varank reminded the embargo applied by Canada for the imported system used for the same purpose in Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs (Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and that CATS has been successfully tested in UAVs and that announced its use.
Stating that the new Bayraktar TB2021 SİHAs, which were delivered to the Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of Security in May 2, were put into service together with the CATS cameras, İsmail Demir announced that they accelerated the reinforcement of the CATS cameras after the embargoes.
With its new improvements, ASELSAN CATS was showcased at TEKNOFEST 2021. While being shown live on Bayraktar TB2, CATS, which was also displayed on Akıncı TİHA, has recently undergone many improvements in terms of stabilization, weight and optical performance.
