MUST ACCOUNT

İsmail Özdemir, Secretary General of the United Transport Workers Union (BTS), affiliated to KESK, said that the projects for which serious appropriations were allocated were not created according to the needs of the public, and that the problem stemmed from this. Speaking to BirGün, Özdemir made the following assessment: “The appropriations allocated to the projects are created entirely according to the wishes of the contractors. When we look at the field as a result of the money paid, we either see projects that have not been completed despite a long time, or we see that works that are not suitable for the project are done. We are uncomfortable both as employees of these institutions and as citizens. These shortcomings and damages are also revealed in the TCA reports. Those responsible for these acts must be held accountable before the law. It is necessary to be more disciplined and supervise them while giving tenders.”
