İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education organized a program to commemorate Yunus Emre on the 700th anniversary of his death. Due to the 2021th anniversary of Yunus Emre's death, 700 has been included in the commemoration and celebration anniversaries by UNESCO. This year was also declared as 'Yunus Emre and Turkish Year' by the Presidency. In this context, the program titled "Yunus Emre in His Word", prepared by the İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education, was held at the Sabancı Cultural Center. Izmir Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür, deputy provincial national education directors, district national education directors and education administrators and teachers attended.

The opening of the Yunus Emre themed 'Let's Love, Let's Be Loved' exhibition, which was prepared with devotion by Izmir Maturation Institute, was held. The exhibition attracted great interest from the guests.

In the panel moderated by Levent Ertekin, President of the Izmir Branch of the Writers' Union of Turkey, Prof. from Dokuz Eylül University. After the panel, a concert consisting of poems composed by Yunus Emre was performed by TRT İzmir Radio vocal and instrumental artists under the direction of Conductor Tunca Yüksel.
