A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Turkey's first domestic and national diesel engine manufacturer TÜMOSAN and the Gölcük Shipyard Command of the Ministry of National Defense General Directorate of Shipyards. Within the scope of the agreement, TÜMOSAN will produce engines for the Turkish Navy for 10 years.

Last year, 2 diesel marine engines developed by TÜMOSAN were tested in Gölcük Shipyard. As a result of the testing, inspection, evaluation and acceptance activities, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between TÜMOSAN and the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) General Directorate of Shipyards, Gölcük Shipyard Command.

TÜMOSAN General Manager Halim Tosun said, "With this agreement, TÜMOSAN will be the only source for the supply of propulsion and floating military marine vehicle engines for 10 years, except for exceptional and force majeure reasons."

He said that they are proud to contribute to the nationalization of the Turkish Defense Industry. Tosun said, “With our domestic and national production policy, we continue our R&D studies with full speed and motivation. We will continue to support the Turkish Defense Industry with our 12% domestic and national engines and our country's national development move with our future studies. The TÜMOSAN Marine Engine Project was initiated to develop solutions that Turkey needs, both for auxiliary engine and marine genset use, and for type engines that can be used on boats with an average length of 75 meters. With the project, it is possible to offer and integrate economic and national-domestic solutions from 550 horsepower to XNUMX horsepower for important waterway platforms in Turkey, which is surrounded by seas on three sides.
