Debt of Adana Metro Transfer to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure

Republican People's Party (CHP) Adana Deputy Dr. Müzeyyen Şevkin stated that the debt of the Adana Light Rail System Project, which indebted even unborn children due to a total debt of 1 billion 100 million liras and monthly installments of 20-25 million liras, should now be transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Dr. Although the President and former prime ministers promised in the 2022 budget meetings of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which was discussed at the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee, which also included Müzeyyen Şevkin, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, why did the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure say anything about the transfer of the system and the completion of the 2nd phase? He questioned whether he had taken any action. Expressing that this debt is expected to be undertaken by the Ministry as promised, Dr. Şevkin said, “In addition, the 2nd stage of Akıncılar-University-Stadium, which was prepared considering the hospitals region, stadium, schools, universities and settlements, was submitted to the Ministry after being updated in terms of feasibility studies, technical and financial aspects, and was approved by the Ministry, but this time awaiting the approval of the Presidency. We would like to learn from you the fate of the ,11,5 kilometer light rail system, Mr. Minister.” asked.

WHEN WILL KARATAŞ AND KOZAN ROADS FINISH?

Also, emphasizing that it is a deep pain that the Adana-Karataş road and Kozan Road, which are of great importance for Adana and called the "death road", have not been completed for years. Şevkin asked Minister Karaismailoğlu, "When will the Karataş road, which is the gateway to the sea with the district of Yumurtalık, will be completed exactly?" posed the question.

“LEFT THE REGIONAL AIRPORT, LOOK AT SAKİRPAŞA AIRPORT”

Pointing out that the Çukurova Regional Airport, the foundation of which was laid in 2013, is stated to be completed in March 2016, a state of complete chaos and confusion continues in the process that has come to the end of 2021. Şevkin said, “Why don't you consider expanding Adana Şakirpaşa Airport instead of building this airport, which has been damaging Turkey's agriculture, economy, Adana and Mersin for seven years? Adana residents expect the expansion of Adana Şakirpaşa Airport, which is one of the 9 most strategically important and profitable airports in the world due to its location. Do you have a plan or a program regarding the Şakirpaşa Airport expansion, Minister?” asked.

ARE THERE FERRY TIMES?

On the other hand, noting that for years, ferry services can be organized to both Mersin and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from the beaches of Yumurtalık and Karataş, the gates of Adana to the sea. Şevkin said, “However, no progress has been made in this regard either. Evaluate the beaches of Karataş and Yumurtalık, Minister. We expect ferry services to be organized on the Iskenderun, Yumurtalık, Karataş, Mersin and TRNC lines for ferry services by sea transportation," he said.

SIGNED THE APPOINTMENT PROBLEM

Pointing out that while young people in Turkey are suffering from unemployment, while waiting for an assignment in the General Directorate of Highways within the Ministry of Transport, no steps have been taken in this regard for a long time, Dr. Sevkin said:

“Architects, engineers, city planners and the bright young people who raised them are looking forward to contributing to the contemporary future of the country. Will an appointment be made to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the General Directorate of Highways? If so, when and how many young people will be assigned to which units? Thousands of young people want an answer and a piece of news from you today, Mr. Minister... You also boast about building highways and bridges, but unfortunately most of the roads split in half like paper in the slightest precipitation, flood or landslide. I would like to remind you of the trauma experienced in train accidents. The families of our citizens who lost their lives are still fighting for the law. Nobody takes responsibility.

CITIZEN'S LAW FIGHT!

In highways, train tracks, and new high-speed train projects, a preliminary examination must be carried out by the technical personnel before the ground survey work. Here again, we need to benefit from the experience of our engineers. We have to implement modern transportation routes with stakeholders consisting of geology, geophysics engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers and experts. Otherwise, our people will continue to lose lives and property.”
