• 1970 – Lunar vehicle of the Soviet Union Lunokhod 1 was thrown. The vehicle was the first robot to be moved by remote control on a ground other than Earth.
• 1975 - Portugal declared its freedom to Angola, which had been a colony since the 16th century.
• 1980 – Solidarity Union, founded in Poland on 31 August 1980 under the leadership of Lech Walesa, was registered and became legal.
• 1981 – “The Law on the State Cemetery” came into effect. It was declared that the graves of anyone other than Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and İsmet İnönü could not be preserved in Anıtkabir.
