The 'International Logitrans Transport Logistics Fair', the first international logistics organization held in the world during the pandemic, was held at Istanbul Expo Center between 18-122 November with the participation of 10 companies from 12 countries. The largest transportation and logistics fair in the Eurasia region hosted nearly 10.000 visitors this year. Despite the pandemic, Turkey reinforced its strategic position in the Eurasia region in logistics with the fair, which was held with a large participation and intense agenda.

Organized by EKO MMI Fairs for the 14th time this year, the 'logitrans Transport Logistics Fair' was held at the Istanbul Expo Center between 10-12 November with intense participation despite the pandemic. 18 companies from 122 countries participated in the organization, which is the first international logistics fair held in the world during the pandemic. The fair, which hosted nearly 10.000 visitors, proved its success among international logistics trade fairs with its intense contacts and conference agenda, despite the pandemic. Visitors had the opportunity to exchange ideas, evaluate investment opportunities and network with the representatives of the participating companies.

Ilker Altun, Managing Director of EKO MMI Fuarcılık, a partnership of Messe Munich and Eko Fairs, pointed out that Turkey is both a logistics base and an international supply chain base in the Eurasian region. Altun said, “Turkey's infrastructure investments in recent years and the steps it has taken to get a share in the logistics field from world trade, apart from its own foreign trade, are bearing fruit. The fair, attended by companies from all over the world, once again demonstrated Turkey's power in logistics. Logitrans, the first physically organized fair among international logistics trade fairs during the pandemic, also proved its success. Despite the difficult conditions, we are happy to host many visitors from the logistics world.”

TİM President İsmail Gülle, in his evaluation of the fair, stated that logitrans is the largest transportation and logistics fair in the Eurasia region and said, “The fair is the most suitable platform for establishing business relations in the intercontinental supply chain between Europe and Asia. 2021 is a very important year for Turkey's exports. Creating a perfect bridge between Europe and the Near East, logitrans is of great importance in achieving our export targets.”

“The rate of business deals and negotiations is at a record level compared to previous years”

Many important Turkish logistics service providers, such as Turkish Cargo, Sarp Intermodal, Omsan and Arkas, participating in the fair, demonstrated the logistics expertise of the Eurasian base.

In the fair, a total of 33 companies from Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands held intensive business meetings with the German national pavilion. Messe Munich Transport Logistics Fair Manager Dr. Robert Schönberger made the following assessment about the fair: “Compared to the fair held two years ago, there is a decrease in the number of international exhibitors. This is due to the absence of international exhibitors from Asia and overseas due to the pandemic. The rate of concrete business agreements and negotiations is at a record level compared to previous years. Therefore, we think that the fair was successful and has a permanent place in the fair calendar.”

Nine different sessions were held in three days

The fair, which has a very rich conference program, focused on issues such as digitalization, intermodal logistics chains including a special rail transport session, and the place of women in the air cargo sector.

Onur Talay, CEO of Sarp Intermodal, who attended the fair, said about the fair, “We saw how important personal contact is, especially during working from home. Within the scope of project planning, we need combined transportation to Eastern Europe, Silk Road transportation and always working together. Meeting with the industry at logitrans enables everyone to get along better with each other”.

logitrans fair will be held at the Eurasia Show and Art Center in Yenikapı between 2022-16 November in 18.
