The "Future Youth / Cultural Industries Support Program", prepared by the General Directorate of Copyrights by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to lay the foundations of the future for the cultural industries.

With the program, whose main axis will be "entrepreneurship" and "skills to produce works with innovative models", it is aimed to increase the entrepreneurial capacity of young people in the field of culture and to develop training and skills programs in cooperation with the business world, sector representatives and educational institutions.

Within the scope of the program, support from 50 thousand to 750 thousand liras will be provided to the projects of institutions and organizations that will bring young people together with the projects they will produce in the focus of the cultural industries. Institutional applications will be accepted in the program in order to ensure that the projects to be created for young people have a wide impact area and ensure their sustainability.

Governorships, universities, municipalities, provincial national education directorates, chambers of commerce, industry, tradesmen and craftsmen, professional organizations in the nature of public institutions, unions, professional organizations, non-governmental organizations, technology development zone, business development center, technology development center management companies or Technology transfer office companies and culture and art institutions such as museums and galleries will be able to submit their applications within the scope of the program through the address “gelecekgenclerin.ktb.gov.tr” between 24 November and 24 December.

“The Total Budget of Our Program Will Be 15 Million Liras”

Making a statement to the press members at the introductory meeting of the "Future Youth / Cultural Industries Support Program" held at Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz said, “Our main goal in this program is to turn young people into cultural entrepreneurs. Applications will take place between 24 November and 24 December. Our target audience is young people between the ages of 16-29.” said.

Emphasizing that they have two priorities in the program, Yavuz continued as follows:

“The total budget of our program will be 15 million TL. The first of our priorities is to develop the skills of our young people in the field of culture and arts and to establish the relevant infrastructure and to produce projects. Our other priority is to establish mechanisms that will develop the entrepreneurship of young people in the field of culture. Our ultimate goal is to enable young people to appear on the culture and arts scene as an economic product with their talents in this sense. All non-profit institutions such as museums, art institutions, universities, foundations, associations, chambers of commerce, technoparks, technology development centers and entrepreneurship centers can be a project applicant. As long as our end users and target audience are young people between the ages of 16-29.”

Pointing out that there are many branches of art in this field when the cultural industries are mentioned, Yavuz said, “From painting to visual, performing arts, theatre, games, software, media, architecture, design. It is possible to describe the cultural industries in a very wide area. It is possible to prepare projects on a wide scale, from training programs that will develop the talents of our youth in this field to turning them into entrepreneurs who do their own business in this field.” used the expressions.

“We Invite Young People aged 16-29 to show interest in the Project”

Director General of Copyrights Dr. Ziya Taşkent said, “Our Ministry had previously carried out a project for young people, but this is a project that knows what it wants a little more. Therefore, we invite all groups that can apply, namely local administrations, universities, culture and arts institutions, foundations, museums, NGOs, and beneficiary young people between the ages of 16-29 to show interest in the project. We are sure that they will apply to us with the jobs that have their feet on the ground.” he said.

Noting that applications to the program can be made on the Ministry's website after 10 days, Taşkent said:

“There will be an opportunity to apply for a month. All the details of the application, how to fill in the form, which cost items are covered and which are not, will be accessible on the website. Probably, the results will be announced in February-March of 2022. Then the projects will start. Projects are expected to be completed in 6-12 months. I guess good things will come. Sharing them publicly will be considered when the time comes.”
