Technology Development and Solution Center (GEBTEK) was opened in Turkey's first chemistry specialized OIZ, GEBKİM. GEBKİM OSB YKB V. İbrahim Araci, listing the goals they want to achieve with GEBTEK, said, "With GEBTEK, we aim to strengthen the position of the Turkish chemical industry in the global market and to support GEBKİM members in issues such as digitalization, compliance with the target of decarbonization, and establishment of international business networks."

Turkey's first chemistry specialized OIZ, GEBKİM, has launched the GEBKİM Technology Development and Solution Center (GEBTEK) with the vision of inspiring other players in the global arena by increasing the intellectual capital of the Turkish industry in the fields of technology, innovation and sustainability.

In addition to R&D studies in chemistry, GEBTEK will also support GEBKİM members' processes of digitalization, compliance with current legal obligations, project management services, establishment of international business networks, human resources consultancy, sustainability and compliance with the Green Agreement. With the academy seminars it will organize, GEBTEK aims to enable its members to reach the qualified human resources they need and to establish a connection between the sector and the academy world.

WE WILL PRODUCE SOLUTIONS TO THE NEEDS OF THE INDUSTRY

Speaking at the GEBTEK opening event, GEBKİM Chairman Vefa İbrahim Araç explained the services planned to be provided at the center: "Management of national and international chemistry qualification certificates, Informing about legislative changes and current legal obligations, Carbon footprint measurement and reporting services, National and international project management services, International Business networks establishment, investment feasibility support in international markets, Institutional maturity analysis, Digitalization and Technology management consultancy service, Transition to corporate infrastructure systems consultancy service, promotion and pilot applications of entrepreneurship ecosystem players, Human resources process consultancy service, GEBTEK Academy seminars".

PILOT STUDIES FOR CHEMICALS THAT CANNOT BE MANUFACTURED IN TURKEY

GEBTEK, whose mission is to strengthen the position of the Turkish chemical industry in the global market, and to provide its members with the solutions and services they need in their transformation and technological development processes, will take important steps to reduce foreign dependency in their raw material needs. The principles of the green agreement action plan will be applied at the center where R&D studies will be carried out for the production of chemicals that cannot be produced in Turkey. Using the green agreement as a springboard and aiming to turn it into an opportunity, GEBKİM aims to set an example in the green transformation of chemical specialized organized industrial zones.

CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY IS EXPANDING

Aiming to reset its carbon footprint, develop the zero-waste project in practice, and expand corporate sustainability with solar energy panels, GEBTEK will also serve its members in the establishment of international business networks. GEBTEK, which will provide management of national and international chemistry qualification documents, project consultancy and investment feasibility support for international markets, is preparing to mark Turkey's export success in the chemical industry.

GEBKIM WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH MTAL

In the Technology Development Center, which will work together with GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (GEBKİM MTAL), it is aimed to establish advisory boards consisting of names from academia and industry who have achieved significant success with their chemistry studies in Turkey and around the world. In GEBTEK, where experts from fields such as circular economy and digital technology will take part, students will be able to witness the production processes of main chemicals and experience first-hand R&D studies in the field of chemistry.

“WE MUST BUILD THE FUTURE FROM TODAY”

GEBKİM Chairman of the Board Vefa İbrahim Vehicle said, “With GEBTEK, where R&D studies will be carried out for the production of the main chemicals we import, we aim to reduce our dependence on raw materials, provide technological solutions that will enable our members to produce in accordance with the Green Reconciliation Agreement, and contribute to the digitalization process. We cannot remain indifferent to the problems of our world. We will support all efforts to support our decarbonisation process. "We have to build the future today," he said.
