The Polish Solidarity Transport Center (STH) has launched a €1,5 billion tender for railway design work for the development of the railway network between Warsaw and Lodz. This is the largest ever tender amount for design work in Europe. Tender applications can be made until 25 November 2021. This major railway investment program envisages the construction of 10-direction train lines to the new airport and the construction of a new 2.000 km high-speed rail line to Warsaw. The estimated value of railway investments made by STH until 2034 is approximately Pln 95 billion (20,35 billion Euro).
At the same time, the Solidarity Transport Center company will have the opportunity to order design services in various configurations, depending on current needs or only for selected design work, covering the design documentation of the entire investment process.
2000 km New High Speed Train Line
Railroad design work includes the main rail lines of the new high-speed rail system, which will run from the capital to the major cities in the west of the country. These include Warsaw - Lodz - Wroclaw / Poznan, the extension of the Central Railway Line in the north of the country to Plock, Wloclawek and Tricity, and the new Katowice - Krakow line. Also included are parts of the country in the north and southeast of the country, such as the Masuria or Bieszczady mountains, which pass through areas currently excluded from transportation.
The tender procedure concerns a total of 2034 projects divided into 2.000 sections constituting the 82 km railway line to be completed by the Solidarity Transport Center by the end of 29. Among them will be sections of high-speed rail with a design speed of up to 350 km / h.
