Dependence on foreign submarine warfare management systems is coming to an end. The National Production Integrated Combat Management System (MÜREN) was integrated into the first submarines. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited the Gölcük shipyard command to examine the progress reached in the MÜREN project carried out by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and the Naval Forces Command. During the visit, Minister Varank successfully carried out a torpedo simulation shot using the MUREN system. It is aimed that MUREN will enter the service of the Naval Forces Command in 2022, after the naval acceptance tests are completed.
VISIT TO GÖLCÜK SHIPYARD
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank paid a visit to Gölcük Shipyard. During the visit, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Deputy Chairman Ali Görçin, Ministry of National Defense Shipyards General Manager Emre Dinçer, Gölcük Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Mustafa Saygılı and other officials were present.
SUCCESSFUL SIMULATION SHOOTING
Having received a briefing about the Gölcük shipyard, Minister Varank made examinations at the factory where the 3 Reis class submarines are under construction. Minister Varank later visited the TCG Preveze submarine, the first ship to which the MUREN system was integrated, whose port acceptance tests were completed. Meeting with the TÜBİTAK BİLGEM team at TCG Preveze, Minister Varank successfully carried out a torpedo simulation shot using the MUREN system.
ALL FUNCTIONS DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL
Turkey has 4 Preveza class submarines. These submarines, which entered service in the 1990s, use country of origin war management systems. With the joint project of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and the Naval Forces Command, Turkey is developing the MUREN system, which has all national and domestic functions.
FULLY INTEGRATED WAR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
MUREN is a fully integrated combat management system with 20 different sensors, navigational and weapon systems. All functions, especially sonar signal processing, command control, fire control and ship navigation, will be able to be implemented locally and nationally.
TESTS CONTINUE
After the factory acceptance tests, the integration of the systems to the ship was completed. After the completion of the naval acceptance tests, MUREN is expected to be available to the Naval Forces Command in 2022.
IT CAN ALSO BE INTEGRATED WITH THE REIS CLASS
MRES; It will have the capabilities of launching modern heavy torpedoes, sensor (sonar, periscope, electronic support systems) data, unique target movement analysis, and track management. Fire control of national torpedoes will be provided via the MUREN system. MUREN can also be integrated into the new generation Reis class submarines. Meanwhile, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM continues to develop two different sonars that can work in integration with MUREN.
