After the cancellation of the first tender for the Kocaeli City Hospital tram line project, the second tender held by the ministry in October was completed. Eze İnşaat won the tender, which was made by invitation method. After signing the contract, Eze İnşaat started working again from where it left off.

TENDER WAS MADE BY INVITATION

According to the news of Süriye Çatak Tek from Özgürkocaeli“Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line Project, which was planned to be built by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality but later transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, has started again. Güneş Asfalt Trade and Industry Company Körfez Branch objected to the first tender of the project and won the lawsuit filed by Eze İnşaat at the Ankara 3rd Administrative Court on the grounds that it did not have a qualification certificate. The construction work, which was stopped after the lawsuit, was resumed in October with an invitation-only tender. Eze İnşaat, which won the tender again, started the work from where it left off this week.

WORK WILL BE ACCELERATED

After the lawsuit, the works stopped at the top of Bekirdere Kuşak Street and resumed. The company, which continues the rehabilitation and infrastructure works of the creek, is expected to accelerate the work by increasing the number of workers in the coming days. It is planned to start the works at different points in order to compensate for the 7-month time lost due to the lawsuit and to minimize the delay to be experienced.

THE PRICE OF THE SECOND TENDER IS NOT ANNOUNCED

The tender for the tram line, which will provide transportation to Kocaeli City Hospital, was held in 2020. Eze İnşaat, which won the tender, started work in the Armory area, in front of the City Hospital and at three different points in Bekirdere in January 2021. Then, in the lawsuit filed by Güneş Asfalt Trade and Industry Company Körfez Branch, the tender was canceled and the business was liquidated by the ministry. It was learned that exactly 7 months after the liquidation in April, the contract for the tender, which was made upon invitation, was signed. Eze Construction, which won the first tender with 284 million liras, was not disclosed for the second tender.

THERE IS TRANSPORTATION CONCERNS

It seems almost impossible to complete the tram project, where the works have started again, in 2022, the planned date. While the end of the project is expected to be delayed until 2023, there are concerns that serious transportation problems will come to the fore with the opening of the hospital before the end of the tram project. The fact that the authorities do not explain how the transportation will be in the region and how the citizens will receive service in the hospital creates anxiety for the citizens.

3 STATIONS AT 5 KILOMETERS

The tram line to be built to Kocaeli City Hospital will be 3,1 kilometers long and will consist of 5 stations. The line, which has a design speed of 50 kilometers per hour, will also be integrated into the Otogar and Kuruçeşme lines. Thanks to the project, 39 thousand additional passengers will come to the tram line daily and the traffic density in the city center will decrease.

HOSPITAL ALSO STATED IN JUNE

Meanwhile, there are new deviations in the date when Kocaeli City Hospital, whose opening was constantly postponed, will be put into service. The Ministry of Health does not like the facility to be put into service with a block in January 2022. The Ministry wants all blocks to be completed and the hospital to be fully commissioned in June 2022. It is aimed that the works will be accelerated and completed according to this date.
