China-Europe Direct Freight Train Services Started

The first of the China-Europe direct freight train services, connecting the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou to Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, started service on Thursday, November 18. According to the information provided by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, the first train loaded with guitars, electronic gadgets and ceramics will arrive in Vorsino in Moscow on 3 December.

The train, which will leave the Chinese borders from the Manzhouli station on the border between China and Russia, will travel on its new route without any stops until it reaches its destination.

The new route in question will reduce the shipping time to 53 days, which would take 15 days when transported by sea. The transportation of goods from Guizhou to Europe and Central Asia was formerly dependent on freight trains departing from cities such as Chongqing, Chengdu, and Xi'an. The province also plans to mobilize more Sino-European freight trains to transport to destinations such as Poland and Germany.
