355 vehicles benefited from the free towing service initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in order to reduce the traffic density in the city and contribute to the transportation system. As part of the work carried out as of September 9, 2020, the teams immediately intervened in the vehicles that had an accident or malfunctioned in the main arteries.

The free road assistance service in the transportation works carried out by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, especially in order to prevent the increasing traffic during the pandemic process, continues. With the application started by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's Izmir Transportation Center (IZUM) on September 9, 2020, time losses due to accidents and breakdowns have decreased.

To date, 9 vehicles have benefited from the towing service offered on the main arteries of the city, as of September 2020, 355, free of charge. The teams operated on the main arteries of Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, Altınyol, Yeşildere, Ankara Street between 1-07.30 and 10.00-16.30, except for weekend and curfew restrictions for more than 20.00 year. In addition, technical support was provided to 370 vehicles within the scope of the service.

Intervention in 23 minutes

In the table, which includes the number of accidents and malfunctions that cause traffic to be locked, the duration of the interventions is also specified. The average removal time of 297 defective vehicles on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, Altınyol, Yeşildere, Ankara Street and other routes was 23 minutes. In the same locations, 58 crashed vehicles were removed in an average of 32 minutes. The average lifting time of 355 vehicles in total was calculated as 24 minutes.
