The General Directorate of Highways, which has made its mark on world engineering history, continues to increase its prestige in the international arena. 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway, which will be the longest medium span suspension bridge in the world when completed, was deemed worthy of the 'Global Achievement Award' given annually by the International Road Federation (IRF). General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and the officials of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Highway project went to the United Arab Emirates - Dubai to receive the award.

The International Road Federation (IRF), which was established to encourage and support the development of worldwide road networks, selects successful names working in this field with excellent and innovative projects that enable the development of infrastructure technologies with the 'IRF Global Achievement Awards' it organizes every year. 18 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway, whose construction and operation processes are followed with interest all over the world, was deemed worthy of the grand prize in the 'Best Project Finance and Economics' category at the 1915th IRF World Congress held in Dubai this year.

It will be the longest mid-span suspension bridge in the world.

The 12 Çanakkale Bridge and Motorway, which has become one of the few projects in the world with its multi-financing structure and has won 1915 global finance awards so far, embodies the firsts in terms of engineering features.

Malkara-Çanakkale Highway within the scope of Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Highway Project; It will be 88 km long, 13 km of which is highway and 101 km of connection roads. 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in the project; It is being built with a total length of 2023 meters with 770 meters of middle span, 365 meters of side spans, 680 and 4 meters of approach viaducts.

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which is known as the "bridge of symbols" due to its features and will stand out with its fine details in its engineering and will be the "longest middle span bridge in the world", was designed as 100 meters in reference to the 2023th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.

The tower connections and elements of the bridge will be in red and white colors in reference to the Turkish flag. The upper part of the towers on both sides will represent the cannonball that Seyit Onbaşı fired into the barrel during the Dardanelles War.

In addition to the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, the highway project includes 2 approach viaducts, 2 reinforced concrete viaducts, 6 underpass bridges, 6 hydraulic bridges, 43 overpasses (1 ecological), 40 underpasses, 228 culverts in various sizes. , 12 junctions (including junctions on the state road), 4 highway service facilities, 2 maintenance operation centers and 7 toll collection stations are being built.

The project will connect Istanbul to Çanakkale and later to the North Aegean

The Malkara - Çanakkale Highway, which also includes the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, will connect Istanbul to Çanakkale and later to the North Aegean when it is completed.

Thanks to the project, the ports, railway and air transportation systems in the Marmara and Aegean Regions, which are the most developed regions of the Turkish economy and where a significant part of the population live, will be integrated with road transportation projects; In these regions, economic development and the creation of a balanced planning and structuring required by the industry will be provided.

The bridge is planned to be put into service on March 107, 18, which coincides with the 2022th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory.
