Protecting the historical values, the Metropolitan Municipality started to apply the new Ankara Font, chosen by the capital, to street and street signs and building numbers. While the new signboards and building numbers selected by the people of Başkent are written in a new font, the teams of the Numbering Department of the Department of Science, with an economy-oriented approach, recycle the signs that have completed their economic life.
The Metropolitan Municipality took action to protect the unique values of the Capital and to remove the pollution created by the advertising signs and totems.
A survey was conducted for three projects selected as a result of the "National Design Competition for Street and Street Signs, Building Door Numbers, Architectural Promotion Signs and Original Font" organized by the Police Department and Ankara City Council.
The new Ankara Font, which has a red-weighted white writing and black stripe design, selected as a result of the voting made by the citizens of Başkent Mobile, has started to be applied on street and street signs and building numbers.
RECYCLING COSTS HALF THE COST

While the unit cost of the signs that have completed their economic life is 80 TL, the teams of the Numbering Branch Office, which cost the cost of the new signboards 40-50 TL thanks to the recycled signs in the workshop, print an average of 500 signboards per day.
