Unforgettable Actors of Space Races at NASA Interactive Space Exhibition

NASA Interactive Space Exhibition, which focuses on the space adventure of humanity, hosts the first actors of the space race. The competitive and adventurous story of space travel, which started 64 years ago with the launch of the Soviet Union's artificial satellite "Sputnik 1" and then accelerated when the USA sent its first satellite called "Explorer 1" into orbit around the world, meets its enthusiasts in Metropol Istanbul on 16 November. .

The first space race begins with the Soviet Union sending its own satellite in response in 1957 and then 1958 by the United States. This competition, which led to the establishment of the American Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which directs space studies, is seen as one of the most important events that accelerate the development of space technology.

The starting point of the "Space Race"

The Soviet Union both produced the first space satellite and started the space race with the USA. The "Beep" of the artificial satellite Sputnik, launched into space by Russia on October 4, 1957, was heard all over the world. Carried by the Vostok-K rocket, Sputnik was able to give scientists information about the density of the atmosphere and the ionosphere in low earth orbit. The race, to which the USA responded with the Exporer 1958 satellite carried by the Jupiter-C rocket in 1, provided groundbreaking evidence of the existence of the Van Allen radiation belt, which protects the earth from harmful solar radiation. Sputnik 22, which sent radio signals to the world for 1 days, revolved around the Earth for three months and burned down when it entered the atmosphere.

The NASA Space Adventure exhibition, which will allow to rediscover this historical event, will take its visitors on a breathtaking space journey as of November 1, by hosting models of the Explorer 1 and Sputnik 16 satellites, as well as the models of space vehicles, including the Apollo capsule model that took mankind to the Moon in this race.
