At the CHP Municipalities Agricultural Development Summit, organized with the slogan of new policies and producer-oriented solutions in AGRICULTURAL development, Buca Municipality's agricultural projects were showcased. Buca Mayor Erhan Kılıç briefed CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu about the sustainable rural development move they implemented during the pandemic period.
Buca Municipality and Buca Villages Agricultural Development Cooperative stand attracted great attention from the participants at the CHP Municipalities Agricultural Development Summit held in Istanbul Eurasia Exhibition Center. CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Deputy Chairman for Local Governments Seyit Torun also visited the Buca stand.
Buca Mayor Erhan Kılıç, who gave information to Kılıçdaroğlu about the sustainable rural development move they implemented during the pandemic, said, “The vineyards had decreased in Buca. We revived it. We are cultivating the razaki grape unique to our city in our region. We established a cooperative. We also produce lavender. Apart from that, we have salep production. In fact, it existed before, disappeared over time, and we brought it back to Buca,” he said.
Stating that they also produce produce (green feed), which is produced with soilless agriculture and distributed free of charge to the people of Buca, Mayor Kılıç said, “The most important cost in cattle breeding is the cost of feed. Thanks to this project, the costs are greatly reduced. It has a lot of nutritional value too. It produces more, more fatty milk. I think that it will probably be one of the most important values of our country in cattle breeding in the future," he said. Kılıç, who also gave information about the Worm Fertilizer Plant and olive groves, added that they put a smile on the face of both the producer and the consumer with their successful rural development move. After the briefing, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu thanked President Kılıç for his work.
