A total of 885 personnel from the Force Commands and Special Forces Command participated in the joint activity, which aims to provide deterrence by demonstrating the firepower of the Turkish Armed Forces, to show the effect of the weapons in its inventory on the target and to improve the coordination of fire support between the forces.
In this context, the OMTAS medium-range anti-tank weapon system, which was produced with domestic means, was also used in the shootings. OMTAS, which is an effective weapon system against armored targets and developed with domestic and national means, destroyed the targets with the shots it carried out mounted on the Pars vehicle.
Strong with KAPLAN and PARS OMTAS
208 tracked KAPLAN and 136 wheeled PARS anti-tank vehicles are supplied. The vehicles supplied within the scope of the project will also have turrets in which the OMTAS anti-tank missile system is used.
Developed by Roketsan for ground-to-ground use for infantry units, OMTAS is an anti-tank missile system. It is effective against all armored threats in the modern battlefield with its high technology.
With a maximum range of 4 km and a minimum range of 200 m, OMTAS is capable of operating in day and night and in all weather conditions.
OMTAS, which has Shoot-Forget and Shoot-Update usage modes, provides the opportunity to shoot from behind the sutre, to shoot at targets hidden behind the sutre, to set precise hit point and to evaluate the hit efficiency, with the flexibility offered by its target update capability, and can be used against fixed and moving targets.
