Minister Karaismailoğlu Inspected Kilis's Highway Projects Onsite

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who came to Kilis on October 30 to make various visits and inspections, went to the Kilis-Akbez road construction site and inspected the latest status of the works on site.

“The total project cost of our 5 important highway investments in Kilis exceeds 407 million liras”

Making a statement here, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that Kilis also received its deserved share from the investments made all over Turkey and gave information about the highway investments made in the city.

Expressing that they have increased the length of the divided road from 2 kilometers to 36 kilometers in Kilis, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that their 2023 target is to reach approximately 60 kilometers. Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition to the 86-kilometer single road construction in this beautiful city, we have built 234 new bridges totaling 6 meters. Our 2023 goal is to build 7 more bridges. Our highway investments in the province continue rapidly. The total project cost of our 5 important highway investments in Kilis exceeds 407 million liras.”

Explaining that the total length of the Nurdağı-Musabeyli (Kilis-Akbez) separation road is 59 kilometers, Karaismailoğlu said that 13 kilometers of the road is located on the provincial border of Kilis, and 2020 kilometers of the road have been completed by the end of 3. Expressing that they are working on earthworks and art structures within the scope of the project in 2021, and that they aim to build 2 more kilometers of the project this year, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the current transportation distance will be shortened by 6 kilometers thanks to the project. Karaismailoğlu added that they aim to complete the road in 2023.

Works on highway projects continue in Kilis

Providing information about other road investments in Kilis, Minister Karaismailoğlu explained the following about the studies:
“Our other highway investment in Kilis is the Gaziantep-Kilis junction-Elbeyli-Syria Border road. We started our road with a total length of 29,7 kilometers in 2017. Until the end of 2020, we have done earthworks and art structures on the Elbeyli Ring Road. This year we will do 3 kilometers of the road. We expect to complete our road project in 2022. 44 kilometers of our Gaziantep-Kilis Road, which is 20 kilometers in total, is located within the provincial borders of Kilis. We have completed our road as a divided road. We will continue the construction of the 6 kilometers divided road, including the missing productions on the route and the 6,1 kilometers Kilis Ring Road and the 12,1 kilometers section up to the Öncüpınar border gate. Within this year, we will have produced 4,5 kilometers of wear on our road. We will complete our path in 2022. Nurdağı-Hassa junction-Kilis State Highway Musabeyli junction road has a total length of 17,3 kilometers. On our way, which we started at the end of March, 4 bridges are foreseen. We will complete our project, in which we have done earthworks this year, in 2023 and put it into the service of our people. We also continue the landslide rehabilitation works that took place on the Nurdağı-Hassa separation Kilis Road.”​
